Baptisms are celebrated on an as-needed basis providing there is no conflict with other parish celebrations. A two-session preparation series for parents is scheduled for September and March. Parents must be registered members of the parish and attend the sessions to have a child baptised at Resurrection. A required two-session preparation series for parents and child is scheduled one a year. This is followed by sessions at home with parents, utilizing materials provided by the parish and followed by an interview with parish staff or ministry facilitators. Children come to their First Eucharist when they, their parents and the staff feel that they are ready. Our program is a two-year program beginning in 10th grade with Horizons. In the second year (11th grade), candidates are invited to explore the central mysteries of our faith. This is a formal retreat-centered atmosphere in preparation for the reception of the Sacrament, which is celebrated during the Easter season. They meet the first and third Sundays of each month from 5:00 – 6:30 PM in Caroluzza Hall. |
